Stepping Forward Together: Superintendent’s Message

Posted Date: 9/24/25 (6:40 PM)

Dear North Bend School District Staff, Families, and Community,

It is with deep gratitude and excitement that I step into the role of Interim Superintendent for the North Bend School District. Having received full support from our Board of Directors, I cannot tell you how honored I truly am. Having served in the district for the past 12 years as a teacher, instructional coach, building level administrator, and district level director, I have had the privilege of working closely with many of you and gaining a full 360-degree view of district operations. I am thankful for the support and encouragement shared with me throughout my years in North Bend, and into this new role. I am eager to keep our schools moving forward so that our staff and community feel progress, momentum, and continuous growth.

This year brings unique challenges. Declining enrollment has led to some staffing shifts and difficult decisions, yet in visiting schools and engaging with staff over the past several weeks, I have been inspired by the unwavering passion and commitment of our team. Our staff are true heroes, always putting students first in the face of any challenge we face as a district. This determination and strength will be supported and amplified through my efforts as your superintendent, ensuring our district continues to thrive and grow.

Despite these challenges, our focus remains on providing high-quality academic programs, robust Career and Technical Education (CTE) opportunities, dynamic performing arts experiences, and strong extracurricular programs that empower students to explore their passions, build teamwork, and prepare for meaningful futures. We want all students to feel safe, supported, and connected, and our collective efforts will ensure that every student is supported, challenged, and inspired to achieve their full potential.

As we move into the 2025-26 school year, we will continue prioritizing attendance, literacy, numeracy, and student engagement across all grade levels. At the elementary level, we are strengthening foundational reading, math, and social-emotional skills.  In our middle schools, we are focused on enhancing achievement, engagement, and readiness for high school success. At the high school level, we are committed to rich and meaningful opportunities in CTE, academics, and the arts while helping each student plan for life beyond graduation.

I am excited for the opportunities before us to build on our accomplishments and deepen our impact. I look forward to working alongside each of you, staff, families, and community partners, as we continue to create a district where every student is known, valued, and supported on their path to graduation and future success. This is the North Bend promise.

With a steadfast commitment to our students and community,

Tim Crider

Interim Superintendent
North Bend School District
