North Bend School District is incredibly proud to celebrateĀ Eva Varga, who has been named anĀ Oregon Regional Teacher of the Year, sponsored by the Oregon Lottery!Ā
Eva was selected for this honor after being nominated alongside more thanĀ 1,600 educators from across Oregonāan outstanding recognition of the impact she has on students, families, colleagues, and our community. Today, North Bend had the opportunity to surprise Eva with this honor.Ā Ā
Eva's work reaches far beyond the classroom. She has helped create meaningful connections with multilingual families throughout our region, supported teachers in strengthening instruction for multilingual learners, and helped launch theĀ Seal of Biliteracy and Multiliteracy at North Bend High School, giving students the opportunity to be formally recognized for their proficiency in multiple languages.
She is also a tremendous leader among her colleagues and continually finds ways to recognize and celebrate others who go the extra mile for students.
What stands out most about Eva is her belief in the potential of every student and family and her commitment to making sure every voice is welcomed and every culture is valued.
Eva represents the very best of North Bend School District, and we couldn't be more excited to see her receive this well-deserved statewide recognition.
